Finally, a wedding close to home. I mean really close! The Barn at Aspen Grove was just a ten minute drive from our place in Elkton, Virginia. Not that I don’t like to travel(I love to travel), but it was nice to wake up and not have a long scary drive ahead of us to get the Jimmy and Meg’s wedding. The day was absolutely perfect, in every aspect. The September afternoon was not too warm, and not too cold. The family was great to work with, as was the DJ, venue owners, celebrant, and caterers (links to all at the bottom!). I’m so excited to share this wedding with you all!
Aneila caught these two smooching behind the stairs during Meg and Jimmy’s first dance. They’ve been married for a while now, but still keep the flame kindled!
Oh my goodness did I love getting shots from the balcony.
The BEST cupcake flavor ever invented.
The DJ really knew what he was doing. He was brilliant at keeping the party flowing, and played a lot of ‘Motown’ before the dancing began, which I am perfectly OK with!
YES. This groomsman KNEW how to dance. Smoothest dancer I’ve ever encountered at a wedding.
Most awesome sparkler exit ever. I think this is my favorite shot from the whole day.
The pines were nearly set on fire, but no worries; it never amounted to any big flames before all the paper was gone. I think Chinese Lantern send-offs are usually a beach wedding thing, though this certainly made for some eventful photos!
All in all, I think we captured some of our best images so far at this wedding (though I say that every time). I loved the September light, the grassy location for portraits, and the Chinese Lantern send-off, as well as many other details from the day. Congrats to Jimmy and Meg!
