but who are we?

We’re another husband and wife photography team who like the nostalgic look of film and so on and so forth and all of the unavoidable cliches…..but who are we really? Here’s a stream of consciousness in list form about who we think we are:

1. we are quiet people

Jordan is pretty quiet, but not as quiet as Aneila. In the right situation Jordan will talk a lot. Aneila will sit there and smile and nod awkwardly.

2. we like to climb volcanos

We’ve climbed Mt Baker, Mt Adams and Mt Rainier. On the futures list: Hood, Denali, Shasta.

3. we live in a camper

It’s a truck camper, entirely homemade, 100% from rough lumber and foam from the Home Depot (and lots of other materials). We call it Sergeant Pepper 2.0.

3.5 but not for long!

We are currently restoring a century home.

4. we are based in Virginia…

…but we love to travel. Most of our work takes place in and around Virginia, with a frequent outsider being Philadelphia, PA, but we give competitive rates for places we’d like to work! So far, we’ve photographed weddings and engagements in thirteen states and a few in Mexico.

5. digital should look like film

The film stocks we once used for shooting weddings are getting hard to find. Film photography may be breathing it’s final breaths, but the colors don’t have to die. I reference my film scan archives while I edit these days. (hint…it’s waaaayy more involved than just clicking a preset and calling it done)

6. we ride a dual sport motorcycle

Haven’t topped 100mph on it yet, but 90mph on gravel sure feels fast*

*update: it tops out at 102 mph

7. we roast our own coffee

meet up with us for a hike and maybe we’ll make you a cup.

8. Aneila likes to knit…

…and bake bread, and write letters, too.

9. Jordan is a nerd

seriously…Jordan likes to tinker with everything electrical and mechanical. He builds his own picture frames from reclaimed lumber. He even wrote the HTML for this page from scratch. He’s also typing this sentence in third person…

10. we are looking for the right weddings

We specialize in intimate weddings and elopements, usually taking on no more than ten events per year.
